Thank you to everyone who was able to come to my welcome party at Buzz Dazzling last Saturday! I had a great time and I really enjoyed talking with all of you. Please feel free to talk to me when you have time. If you don't know the English, I'll help - practice makes perfect! :)
Just to tell you a little about myself... I grew up in the city of New Castle which is in the state of Delaware in the United States. Delaware is the second smallest state - see if you can find it on a map. I studied history and English literature at the University of Pittsburgh, so I like visiting historical places, reading, and editing. (If anyone wants anything proofread, I'd love to help out!) I've been living in Japan for almost 4 years, and I've been in Suzuka since April. I feel like I'm pretty settled in in my apartment, but as the weather gets warmer, I want to explore the area more. I'm really looking forward to summer in Suzuka for many reasons. This is the first time I've lived so close to the beach, so I can't wait to go! And if I go to the beach, I have to eat shaved ice - I wonder if they have みぞれ flavor? ’みぞれ’ is 'sleet' in English, so it's hard to describe the flavor to my American friends, but it's delicious! I love Japanese festivals and fireworks, so please let me know when they are happening. I also hope I get a chance to eat some watermelon. Japanese watermelons are smaller than the watermelons in America, but I think Japanese watermelons taste sweeter. What do you look forward to in the summer? Do you have any recommendations? Leave a comment or talk to me when you get a chance and let me know!
